Late 17th - 18th century. Salt-glazed stoneware, dipped overall in brown slip.
Bellarmine jugs, though made in Europe (mainly Germany), were heavily imported into the colonies through the first half of the 18th century.
Bearded face and belly medallion applied on the front of jug, opposite the handle.
8" tall.
This is a new piece of pottery made in the old style, not an antique.
